Seeing cities transformed

I have just finished reading The Supernatural Ways of Royalty by Kris Vallotton and Bill Johnson. It is a really great book and one that I recommend you read. It is about knowing your true identity as a child of the King of Kings, letting go of a pauper mentality and how to start living life as an heir to the kingdom.

In the book Kris Vallotton shares a story about the transformation of a community, a community that had been overtaken by crime, drugs and immorality and the Sheriffs department didn’t know how to solve the problem. Kris and his family began to feel a strong burden for the community and they began to pray and intercede for the town. They did this for a whole year and then Kris was approached by the county, they wanted him to work with the youth who were on probation in that community. Every week they would meet and play basketball and volleyball and during half time Kris would share a message giving them tools to deal with life and let them know how valuable they were to God. Over the course of five years the entire town was changed and transformed… “drug dealers got saved and most of the kids began respecting themselves and started having moral standards. We taught the teenagers how to deal with conflict so that the fighting stopped and the entire community cleaned up” (Kris Vallotton).

This story of an entire community transformed so inspired me. One family followed the burden that was on their hearts, they took ownership for their community and they stood up and did something about the brokenness that was surrounding them. They saw breakthrough and transformation come to their community.

As the body of Christ we need to take ownership of our communities, our towns, our cities. We need to take a stand and do something about the brokenness that surrounds us…We have love that causes people to know they are cared about. We have grace that gives them the power to change. We have mercy that picks them up when they fall. We have courage that stands in the face of violence and brings peace and we have wisdom that shows people how to live. Most of all we have an awesome father who knows how to melt the hearts of His people. We have the answers to the world problems and the devils devices. Kris Vallotton.

When we start praying and interceding for our cities God will give us strategies and strength. Strategies on how to bring healing and the strength to carry them out. We have love, we have grace, we have mercy, we have courage, we have wisdom and a Heavenly Father working miracles all around us. Let heaven come in our city.
