God is not worried

though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken. Nor my covenant of peace be removed says the Lord who has compassion on you

Worry is an awful feeling. To feel anxious or troubled over something can leave you feeling unwell, you loose sleep at night because you can not turn your mind off. Worry can make you go places in your mind that you just shouldn’t go to. You begin going over ‘what if’ scenarios that cause you more stress and those ‘what if’ scenarios haven’t even happened yet. All this to say that worry is not good for us and it is not in our design to think and behave this way.

When I look up worry in the bible it is often attached to the words do not…

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Matthew 6:35

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

There are chapters in the bible that are titled do not worry and do not be afraid but yet we still do. When worry was mentioned in the bible it never came from what God was feeling, He does not get worried. He is the king of peace, and peace and worry just do not go together.

You see God is in charge of everything and He is not worried. There is no contest between the enemy and God, because God will always win. With Him in charge the place is safe and we can relax into the freedom that comes to us when God is in charge. Our covenant with God puts us in a safe place.

Instead of reacting and praying for our situations out of fear, worry or anxiety, we should ask God what He is doing through the situation and then pray according to His response. We must align ourself with His plan and His heart.

Instead of reacting to what the enemy is doing we must instead react to what the Father is doing. Jesus is the perfect example of this, He lived in response to the Father. When we respond to something it is either from fear or love. Jesus did everything from love and we must strive to do the same.

When we remember that we are safe in and with God our trust and love will begin to grow. Our confidence will begin to rise and we will start to walk how God fully intended us to walk. We will begin to operate in our spiritual gifts that He has given us and we will start to change the world with the kingdom of heaven that we carry.

Do you feel safe and that God has got this? Or are you living with worry and anxiety over the things that you are facing? Align your thoughts with Gods thoughts for you and the situation you are facing and trust that He is for youAsk the Lord to lead you and to uphold you so that you will have the inner strength you need for those scary places you may find yourself in.

Be carefree in the care of God

Jesus said “Does worry add anything to your life? Can it add one more year, or even one day? So if worrying adds nothing, but actually subtracts from your life, why would you worry about God’s care for you?” Luke 12 v25 TPT

I find that I have to read the passages in Luke 12 on worry over and over again. Worry is still something that I struggle with. Every now and then it creeps in and steals my peace and my joy.

Worry does not add anything good to my life, instead it is drawing from me. It takes my peace and joy and turns it into anxiety and stress. And yet I continue to worry.

I desire to be carefree in the care of God. To recognize straight away when worry is beginning to creep in and to silence it straight away. I will silence the lies that we do not have enough to make it through and replace them with the truth that God always provides all of my needs. I will remember that I am valuable and God wants for me to always succeed and to never fail.

I am holding on firm to Jesus words… “Each and everyday He will supply your needs as you seek His kingdom passionately, above all else. So do not be afraid, dearest friends! Your loving Father joyously gives you His kingdom realm with all it’s promises!” Luke 12v 31-32 TPT

Jesus, help me to remain focused on the promises you have spoken over me in your word, and to live above the anxious cares in my life. Take my worries and replace them with peace and joy. I love you. Amen.

You are more valuable than anything else

“What is the value of your soul to God? Could your worth be defined by an amount of money? God doesn’t abandon or forget even the small sparrow he has made. How then could he forget or abandon you? What about the seemingly minor issues of your life? Do they matter to God? Of course they do! So you never need to worry, for you are more valuable to God than anything else in this world..” Luke 12 v 6-7 TPT

I felt God saying that I needed to share this passage because somebody reading this needed to hear these words that Jesus spoke to His beloved disciples.

I want you to know that you are more valuable than you know. It is so easy to slip into the thought patterns that we are not enough, but we were created to be just who we are. You are so valuable that God sent His one and only Son to redeem you back into relationship with Father God.

God knows you and He sees you. Even in a crowded room you shine so brightly in His eyes. He is calling to you, to lift your head and to stand proud because you matter to Him.

He understands that you worry. He is right there, ready to take care of every little detail for you so that you can rest in His perfect peace. So loosen your grip on them and hand them over.

Father, just like your word says, help me to remember and believe that I am more valuable to You than anything else in this world. I am Your favourite and You loved me enough to send Your son, Jesus, to die so that You could be in relationship with me. Thank you. Amen.

Do not worry

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life]? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:25-34

This was my reminder for today, a saving grace in the middle of an anxious moment for me. It made me stop, breath, relax and let go. The birds of the air do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet my Heavenly Father feeds them. I am much more valuable than they. He knows me, He loves me, He cares for me and He has me in the palm of his hands. I need not worry about tomorrow, just focus on today, focus on Him and seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all else will fall into place.
