Wisdom, our hiding place

I have often wondered what people really meant when they would use the phrase the fear of the Lord. Was God somebody to be feared? Did it mean that you lived in fear of the Fathers response to something?  Was He scary?

To me the fear of the Lord is to live in fear of ever being without Him. I just could not imagine doing life with out Him.

He is a good Father who wants good things for us.

God just wants us to trust Him completely. He wants us to rely on Him to guide us and to lead us in every decision we make. It is not about putting aside what we want to do, He wants us to give Him our dreams and desires so that He can breath on them. It is about trusting that what He has for us will be better then we could ever imagine.

In Proverbs three it says…

… My child, never drift off course from these two goals for your life: to walk in wisdom and to discover discernment. Don’t ever forget how they empower you. {verse 21}

He wants us to walk in His wisdom and discernment. To become intimate with Him so that we can hear His voice so much more clearly. Then He can speak into our hearts and lead us wherever we are going. If He is leading then it is going to be amazing!

Wisdom and discernment empower you. They build strength within you so that you can walk knowing full well who you are, who God is and what your purpose in life is.

He is a Father who wants to empower us. Not for us to follow along blindly but to have wisdom and discernment in everything we are doing. To have the mind of Christ and to walk in His footsteps doing all he had done and more.

…. they give you living hope to guide you and not one of life’s tests will cause you to stumble. {verse 25}

Gods word and His wisdom is our living hope. We can stand on His promises like we stand on solid ground, safe and secure and have complete confidence that He has everything in His hands. That He will guide us, go with us, empower us, steady us, and hold us up.

Make it your goal never to drift off course. To hold wisdom and discernment close at hand. To draw close to the Father, to hear Him, read His word and be filled with His love, word, promises, faith, strength and all those good things that He provides to those who love Him.
