It was God’s plan to have man, that He created in His image to rule over all of the earth and to be the representative of God on earth.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:26-28

God gave Adam and Eve the power to rule over the world, but when Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command and ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they gave their power away to God’s enemy, the Devil. As soon as they did this the enemy was then given an open door into mans life.

Adam and Eve gave their power away, they opened the door and let the enemy walk right in. All it took was for them to listen to the lies that the enemy was whispering to them and their whole life changed.

This really challenged me and made me think, have I been giving my power away? Have I come into agreement with lies and opened the door for the enemy to walk right on in and have his way? Unfortunately I realized that the answer had been yes.

I had been partnering with fear. I was living under the lie and fear that we wouldn’t have enough, I was believing the lie that we didn’t have enough and that there would never be an abundance in my life like I had been previously used to. I had given in to the lies and to the fear and had forgotten all of the Lords promises to me. I then began to try and control my circumstances through my own strength, which was proving not to work.

Back to the garden; there was no relationship with the enemy before this moment happened, before Adam and Eve ate the fruit. There was only a relationship with the Lord.

Relationship with the Lord is the key to regaining our power, to closing the door on the enemy and silencing the lies that he tries to whisper to us. The only voice, the only words of wisdom that we should be listing to is that of the Lords.

Jesus came to seek and saved the lost (Luke 19:10) and He defeated the enemy and gained our power and authority back. He restored our relationship with the Lord and it is with Him that we can defeat the enemy.

Once I had my revelation that I given my power away to the enemy I asked the Lord to come in and help me to get it back. I asked Him to be the loudest voice in my head and to help me to silence the voice of the enemy. I reminded myself of all the promises of the Lord that we find in the word of God… the promise that He plans to prosper us, that He will take care of us and always provide for us…

I stopped trying to do things in my own strength and just laid everything at the Lords feet and asked Him to take full control and you know what, He did. He began to take full control and began to provide for me and for my family daily. I have many stories of how we received gifts and surprises, money would come in just as money needed to be sent out to pay for things, but it only started happening as soon as I gave it all to Him, as soon as I let Him take full control.

He is a good God and He is just waiting to come in and do good things for us. It is time for us to stop listening to the lies of the enemy, lies that we will never have enough or that we will never be enough. We need to take back our power and place our hope and trust in the Lord and have faith that He will always be our enough.
