What is He calling you to do?

It should not surprise us when God calls us to do something that seems outrageous because Jesus told us that we are destined to do greater things.  Sometimes He calls us to do something that seems a little out of our comfort zone and sometimes it is something that is way outside the box .

Jesus said in John chapter 14 verse 12...“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father”.

This promise was not just for Jesus’ disciples, it is a promise to all believers for Jesus said “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me” .

He then goes on to say that He will send us help, He will send us the Holy Spirit.

…”And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”. John 14: 16-17

We are not alone in our calling. When God calls us to do those things that seem outrageous, He is with us, helping us and giving us the ability to do the very thing that we may not be qualified to do but the Holy Spirit qualifies us to do it.

We just need to have obedience and faith. When God gives us a calling He is asking us to partner with His heart, we just need to trust Him and have obedience and step out. We need to have faith that He knows what He is doing, He will go with with us and help us along the way. We just need to be in tune with Him every step of the way.

That is often where we go wrong, the tuning in every step along the way bit. We hear God calling us to do something and we step out and start to do it but we forget to keep listening to Him along the way. We thought we got all our instructions at the beginning but in actual fact we may have just got the first step and we need to check back in all the time to find out the next part of the journey.

What is God calling you to do? I encourage you to not be afraid but to lean in and listen to what He is saying. Remember that you are not alone in it, you are partnering with God and He will strengthen you, speak to you and guide you along every step of the way. Keep in tune with Him and step out in obedience and faith and try to enjoy the journey.
